These notes represent my personal reflection and observation on various aspects of the organization of 13th Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies (AICIS) held in November, 18-21, 2013 in Senggigi Beach, Mataram-Lombok, known as Pulau Seribu Masjid (an Island with a Thousand Mosques). These notes also reflect my opinion on the ideas as well as arguments proposed, discussed, and exposed during the conference by national and international active participants and speakers.
